The Role

This role is based at our Milton Keynes office and is part of a team of 10 designers. The primary responsibility of this role is creating turn-key design solutions, costing and visualisations in collaboration with our Area Sales Managers for a variety of types of clients.

The purpose of the Designer role is to support sales growth through design flair, knowledge and experience as a play space designer gained within the role.

As a Designer your primary responsibilities & tasks will include:

  • Interpretation of Area Sales Manager design brief & clients documents into a design solution
  • Ongoing collaboration with Sales Managers, Sales Support team and Contracts personnel
  • Developing safe and creative 2D Plans that have a good layout, flow and zoning
  • Creating compelling 3D Visuals that have impact and are tailored to the intended audience
  • Project pricing, including requesting outsourced, bespoke price elements and collating additional information for other departments to use
  • Creating additional graphical information to support the design explanation 

Ideal Experience

  • 1 year play space design or related outdoor space-planning industry experience
  • Basic understanding of play safety standards, installation methods, design process and outputs
  • Good client understanding & commercial focus to ensure requirements of our clients are met

Technical Skills

  • Competent & independent user of AutoCAD
  • Experience with 3d modelling/rendering software, ideally 3DsMax
  • High proficiency in Photoshop
  • Proven design flair
  • Excellent mathematical understanding

  • Is trustworthy and takes responsibility for managing deadlines, planning tasks for self and receiving input from others, checking details and raising anomalies

We are looking for talented and skilled people to join our vibrant team. At KOMPAN we provide extensive training on our products, procedures, and integrated IT-systems (the newest Microsoft CRM & ERP systems).

This role is required to work 37.5 hours per week at our Milton Keynes office between 8:30am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with a one hour lunch break each day – plus extra hours when required to meet deadlines.

After successfully completing the Probationary Period, this role is entitled to 25 days paid annual leave and to join the company contributory private healthcare scheme. You will automatically be enrolled into the company pension scheme.

KOMPAN’s office is in modern building, accessible to all, located in a green area close to Milton Keynes town centre and train station.
