It is a criminal offence under the above Regulations to give consumers the impression that you are a member of a trade association when you are not.
API are extremely keen to investigate and where appropriate prosecute any company who falsely promotes that it is a API member company. Trading Standards will be informed in all cases.

Companies stating that they are ‘founder members of the API’ or verbally indicating they are members – does not mean they are members! Ask to see their current membership certificate, double check online or call the office directly for confirmation.
