The Role
As part of HAGS UK’s Design Team, the Design Team Leader will be responsible for over-seeing the day-to-day operations of the design team supporting and being supported by the Design Manager whilst being responsible for a number of direct reports. You will play a pivotal role in enabling the design team to support the external sales team in achieving order and revenue targets. This role combines person management, design expertise, and goal orientation alongside strategic development and growth of the design team ensuring alignment between design operations and business objectives.

As a Design Team Leader not only will you have opportunities to work on creating outstanding, exciting and unique design proposals but you will also combine that work with recruitment, coaching, mentoring & development of new and existing design team members, working with the Design Manager to continuously evolve our vibrant, experienced and driven team.

Based out of our Sherburn in Elmet design office you will use your previous design and leadership experience to play a pivotal role in the current and future success of HAGS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire and mentor a team of designers to support the attainment of the departments quotes and sales targets, by delivering exceptional design output and quality.
  • Create inspiring play area plans and visuals along with producing accurately costed proposals which deliver and exceed both internal and external customer expectations.
  • Assist in managing the day to day running of the department including workload planning & quality checking with a focus on achieving deadlines.
  • Manage and maintain the CRM, Costing and PDM systems, to enable accurate designing, costing & efficient creation of proposals for the design and wider sales team
