Job purpose:
To design and produce detailed and accurate 2D and 3D drawings, technical specification data sheets, and other relevant documentation for our playground equipment range and play space designs.
Key responsibilities •
- Work closely with the sales and product teams to innovative and functional design solutions that meet the company’s requirements, customer needs, and industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Create detailed and accurate 2D and 3D renderings, animations and visualisations to communicate design concepts.
- Develop technical specification data sheets to demonstrate that equipment meets industry-specific regulations and standards such as BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure that designs are producible and meet the required quality standards.
- Price products and designs during the design phase to meet a target GPM.
- Produce proposal documentation, including design proposals, project timelines, and cost estimates
- Continuously improve design processes and practices to increase efficiency and productivity.
Essential requirements:
- Degree, equivalent qualification or demonstrable industry experience in design, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing playground equipment, outdoor structures, or related products.
- Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software such as 3DS Max or similar.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Desirable requirements:
- Experience in pricing products during the design phase to meet a target GPM.
- Experience in project management and the ability to lead a team.
- Knowledge of materials science and engineering principles.
- Familiarity with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards such as BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177.
