Ahead of a busy summer of playground installation projects across the country, Playforce is looking to appoint an Estimator to join our team based at our head office in Melksham, Wiltshire.

The Estimator will work alongside our sales and operations teams and a network of specialist third parties in order to support our quotations process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysis and compiling of specifications and pricing for proposed designs before providing to the sales team for quoting
  • Quoting for repair works and minor landscaping/groundworks
  • Tender writing and compilation
  • Liaising with suppliers to gather and negotiate prices for materials, products and services, and assisting with supply chain management
  • Checking of pricing to ensure quotations are accurate, cost effective and operationally practical
  • Internal project management and cross-department coordination
  • Maintaining an up to date technical knowledge around construction techniques, relevant safety standards and product details

The ideal candidate should have the following skills and characteristics:

  • Junior Estimator or procurement experience or knowledge of a similar construction/specification environment
  • Highly organised; with the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable with calculating quantities, interpreting quotations and specifications and reading technical drawings accurately
  • Highly IT literate, with experience of using CRM, Microsoft Excel or other tools and programmes used for pricing of projects
  • Project management capabilities
  • Understanding of sales processes
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • An effective communicator, both with colleagues and suppliers
  • A tendency to thrive in, and contribute to, a dynamic team environment
  • A positive, can-do approach
