Wicksteed success at home and abroad
Not content with achieving record sales in the UK in December
and January, leading play equipment manufacturer Wicksteed
Playscapes is taking on Europe.
With more than €4m sales – another record – in
France last year, a huge contract, just completed, covering some
200 sites in northwest Spain, Wicksteed is now enjoying expansion
into The Netherlands, with plans to push out into Germany and
Poland.
Wicksteed’s reputation is leading the way, with Replay, a
well-established Dutch play company keen to forge a
partnership.
With the deal only sealed in August 2007, Wicksteed has seen
more than £100,000 worth of sales in The Netherlands
already.

The older kids love the challenges
and excitement of Wicksteed’s Monsta-Zones
Stuart Wetherell, sales director of
Wicksteed, said: “We were so pleased to be approached by
Replay as we didn’t have any coverage in The Netherlands. The
new ranges, particularly the Monsta-Zones multi-play system and
Mystical World, a modular system for the younger age range, have
really taken off – both in the Netherlands and back here in
the UK.”
Edward van den Borne, director of Replay, said:
“We’re very happy about the partnership with Wicksteed
– it’s only been a few months and we’ve already
had good results. “The equipment has proved popular and
we’re hoping we can also sell the Multi-sports system soon,
so we can give a full range to our customers. This is just the
beginning of our relationship with Wicksteed, but I think
it’s going to be a great partnership well into the
future.”
Stuart added: “We are delighted with how sales are going.
Our company in France – Bois D’Orraine – have had
a record year, coupled with the huge sales success in Spain, it
clearly demonstrates that Wicksteed’s commitment to quality
and innovation can cross borders.”
