Sutcliffe Play Appoints National Sales Manager

Sutcliffe Play, a leading designer and manufacturer of children’s playground equipment has announced a new appointment.

Andrew Shambrook

Andrew Shambrook has recently been appointed National Sales Manager and will oversee five area sales managers and the company’s relationship with its key UK distributors.

Andrew has extensive sales management experience in construction and associated industries and is looking forward to playing a key role in Sutcliffe Play’s future. Andrew comments:  “It is a privilege for me to be part of the next chapter in the company’s progress. I am building on a fantastic heritage and am passionate about what Sutcliffe Play produce.

“Snug, for example, is an absolutely revolutionary product that enables children to play and learn at the same time. The only limit is their imagination and it ties in with the curriculum, everything from geography to maths.”

“I am very impressed with how much detail and consultation with children goes on at the design level, it is very impressive.”

“We have fantastic products, great customer relations and a dedicated workforce, I want to keep that people centred approach whilst developing our growth and commercial strategies for the future.”

Viv Jebson, Managing Director of Sutcliffe Play, adds: “Andrew is a dynamic, professional and self motivated business manager with a proven track record in management and sales. This excellent experience will play a key role in the development of Sutcliffe Play.”

Andrew is already introducing exciting new initiatives into the company.  In his first week at Sutcliffe Play he launched an internal design competition inviting all levels of staff, from the boardroom to factory, to share their ideas for an innovative and dynamic piece of playground equipment.

Andrew received over 25 entries from all levels of the company which were then judged by the international and national distributors and the Sutcliffe Play sales team at the company’s recent sales conference.  The competition was so successful that a number of designs are now being designed and considered for manufacture in 2009.

Andrew comments: “I wanted to really get to know the team at Sutcliffe Play and what better way than to see their ideas and involve them in the future of the company.  I’m delighted that the competition was embraced by everyone, including some of our customers, and I’d welcome anyone with an idea to share it!”
