Enhancing Busy Fingers’ play areas
Thanks to staff at the popular shopping channel, QVC, Vicky Collins from Busy Fingers, Alistair Scott from SureStart and Wicksteed Playscapes, the little ones at Busy Fingers in Kirk, Liverpool, can now enjoy two super new play areas.
Officially opened by the Bishop of Warrington, the playgrounds bring a whole new lease of life to the children’s outdoor activities.
Wicksteed created a den area for the children and even planted shrubs and flowers to grace their wooden encased flowerbeds.
A gentle mound was incorporated into the scheme, thereby adding
another dimension to the overall area and providing yet more exploratory play possibilities for the naturally inquisitive kids.
Funding to the tune of some £44,000 to enable all this to happen was raised by staff at QVC who worked in close conjunction with Kirkby Church of England School which shares the extended site.
Talking Flowers, free-standing Mirror Panels, a sandbox and a little Wicksteed Play House further complimented the sites. Giving children the opportunity of playing in a natural type of setting yet having the added advantages of some prescribed play products was the ideal solution for the two spaces in question.
Unusually, special markings have also been incorporated into the surfacing creating a mini roadway for the budding drivers who scoot round happily and safely on their bikes during outdoor breaks - keeping well within the Highway Code!
