Saltex preview 2008

Following on from yet another successful year, Wicksteed Playscapes are all set to bring a wonderful showcase of their new products back to Stand F1 at this year’s event.  Held at the Royal Windsor Racecourse in September, SALTEX is a prestigious trade show on the exhibition circuit.

                                                             Brambleside Winners

One of the many highlights this year will be the Tropical Breeze Roundabout.  Devised and designed completely by pupils from Brambleside Primary School, as part of Wicksteed’s Play Teams projects, this eye-catching product will be quite a talking piece. Created by the students during a Dragons’ Den type presentation in conjunction with Wicksteed Playscapes and the school, the winning design has been realised and will be unveiled on the stand for all to see.  Once the show is over, Tropical Breeze will be installed within the playground of the school.

The varied list of play and sports equipment due to be exhibited provides a superb overview of the vast Wicksteed Playscapes range.  Revolutionary, sculptural pieces such as the Ultra unit from the Monsta modular play system range; the pylon-esque Matrix complete with 2 slides and the structurally streamline and cool Ice Storm will all be featured.

Two exciting and innovative new roundabouts also on display will be:-

  • The Triple Spinner - reminding us all of how we felt on the Waltzers at the fairground when we were kids - two spinners rotate separately whilst the main roundabout is circling! ·
  •  The Kick-About Spinner – making the kids work for their spinning sensation, this roundabout is self propelling and great for strengthening and exercising leg muscles.

Hugely topical, and taking the whole world by storm, is the Xerscape range. Having enjoyed something of superstar status over the past few months, these units have appeared in national press and TV and enquiries have been coming in from places as far flung as Singapore and the USA.  Wicksteed has got the whole world talking about the necessity of keeping fit and healthy no matter how old you are!

Wicksteed has also been invited to give twice daily educational seminars, jointly with the Play Inspection Company, on the revisions to the European Safety Standards for playground equipment and surfacing, as well as multi-sports and roller sports equipment.   Back by popular demand will be the daily prize draw at which successful entrants will be able to win a significant piece of equipment for their local school, council or charity.
