The Greeno Day Centre are Out and Active!
A new fitness area installed by Record RSS has recently been opened at The Greeno Day Centre in Shepperton. Councillors Mrs Denise Grant and Mrs Vivian Leighton attended the opening and tried out all of the equipment before retiring to the day centre to enjoy tea and cakes with day centre staff, day centre users and Record RSS Area Manager Alan Eastell.

The equipment from the Record RSS Outdoor Fitness Range was chosen by the older ladies and gentleman who attend the centre. Lead by Kay Stevens who wanted exercise equipment that could be used by all to provide facilities for those who wanted to improve their health or simply help maintain suppleness of the joints. Kay explained: “A lot of older people want to do gentle exercise but do not have access to equipment or cannot afford to join a gym. After seeing the range of equipment offered by Record RSS we were delighted at the exciting different items we could have.”
Pat White Manager of the centre is also thrilled with equipment: ”The people who attend the centre use the equipment daily, in addition due to the location of the equipment children are taking advantage of the facilities especially going to and from school so there is a wide age range benefiting.”
Record RSS Area Manager Alan Eastell added: “Increasing activity for all people, regardless of age, has to be encouraged if we are to raise our levels of fitness and enjoy the benefits it ultimately brings. The Outdoor Fitness Range has been launched to support the need for cross generational fitness provision within our parks and public spaces. It makes training and informal workouts accessible to all.”
The Outdoor Fitness range consists of eleven individual stations, all of which are intended to provide exercise for individual muscle groups. It has been designed to be permanently installed outdoors and to be free for all people to use, while also helping to encourage fitness and healthy living in today’s busy environment. With a range in a park, a college, or even a jogging track, it is now easy for people to stop on their way home from work to exercise!
