Children jump for joy as they win an Exigo system
Record RSS have officially awarded Tattingstone Primary School
with a new trail system, Exigo, worth £10K, for their winning
entry into the Think it, Design it 2007-2008 playground equipment
design competition. The new playground was unveiled by Karen
Pickering, former world swimming champion and Ambassador for Sport
in Ipswich.
The competition run by Record RSS invited pupils aged 4 to 11 to

of playground equipment.. The judges based their decision on the
best use of materials, textures and colours.
Tattingstone Primary School’s award-winning Underwater
Playground design featured a Starfish roundabout, Shark slide and
Octopus climber.
Douglas Belfield, Sales Director of Record RSS comments;
“It was a difficult decision to make, as all the entries were
of a high standard, but after hours of careful consideration, we
felt that Tattingstone Primary School’s entry was the most
unique and imaginative.”
Exigo, designed by Record RSS is aimed at 2 to 6 years olds and
differs from traditional linear trail systems which go from A to B,
as this offers a choice of three paths at each
‘junction’. Its moving walkways pivot in the middle or
wobble from side to side to challenges the child’s
balance. Spin steppers, springy steppers and nets further
test skill and technique when crossing them.
“Children should be encouraged to play outside as it helps
them to develop physically and mentally. The playground will ensure
all the pupils at Tattingstone get the benefits of outdoor play on
modern and innovative play equipment,” says Karen Pickering,
Ipswich’s Sports Ambassador.
