Innovation in consultation The life and
durability of a recreation area is often dependent upon the
acceptenace and active involvement in the decision making by all
stakeholders. This presentation is intended to suggest ways
in which different consultation exercises can be undertaken
depending on the size of the project, time, budgets and target
markets.

Designing for play - creating playable
spaces The Presentation will look at what makes a
good place for play. How can we make public spaces more
playable and welcoming for children? We believe in taking a
design-led approach to the creation of playable space.
Play spaces should make use of natural elements, be well
located, have flexibility built into the layout, be accessible,
allow for change and evolution, meet community needs, and
build in opportunities for risk and challenge. This
yields in our view far better, richer playable spaces, ones that
evoke a sense of place and enhance the local
environment. |
