Notts Sport recruit new talent to bolster its growing business
Leading synthetic surfacing specialist Notts Sport has welcomed two new recruits as demand continues to grow for its range of artificial turf solutions for sport and play.
The Leicestershire-based firm has appointed 28-year-old Marie Cooksey to the role of Multi-Sports Project Development Manager, while Ramandip Gill (34) joins the Notts Sport team as an Indoor Sales Executive.

Marie has spent her entire working life in the artificial sports surfacing industry, a career which began at the age of 16 when she began helping out with her step-father’s synthetic turf installation business.
After paying her way through college and university while continuing to work part-time as an artificial turf installer, Marie moved onwards and upwards to a project management position before joining Notts Sport to progress her career further.
Her new role at Notts Sport will see her working closely with schools, local authorities and sports clubs to design and project-manage bespoke multi-sport pitch solutions to suit their new-build or refurbishment needs. It’s another step forward in her fast-developing career, and she’s relishing the opportunity to tackle a fresh challenge.
“Having spent years installing and project-managing synthetic turf pitch constructions, I’ve really been able to develop my skills and specialist knowledge in the field – and joining Notts Sport gives me the perfect chance to put what I’ve learned into practice,” says Marie, who lives in Solihull and enjoys playing hockey, as well as mountain biking and outdoor activities.
“Notts Sport is unique as a business because the Design and Advisory Service we offer means we act as consultants as well as project managers, ensuring our clients can achieve the perfect multi-sport pitch installation to suit their specific requirements.
“With my experience and background, this is the ideal position for me – and working in more of a design role means I don’t have to get my hands dirty any more! I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into the job and the Notts Sport team couldn’t have made me feel any more welcome.”
Ramandip – better known as Ramsey – brings a wealth of sales experience to his new role at Notts Sport, having previously held sales positions for Rentokil and Office Depot.
As Indoor Sales Executive for Notts Sport’s ChildsPlay team, Ramsey works with schools and local councils to promote the benefits of the company’s wide range of play surfaces, which offer safer and cost-effective solutions for installations both indoors and out.
His job also involves arranging for his colleagues in the field sales team to visit clients up and down the country.
Ramsey, who lives in Leicester and loves playing football, says: “I’ve played on a fair few artificial turf surfaces in my time, but until this opportunity came along I’d never really thought about what goes into creating them or the amazing technology that’s beneath the surface.
“I have plenty of experience in sales roles, but working with Notts Sport will give me the chance to build really positive relationships with clients in a way that my previous jobs never have, by working with them from the start of a project to the finish and knowing I’ve played a big part in creating their ideal play scheme.”
Notts Sport has over 28 years of experience delivering high-quality artificial turf solutions in the sports and play surfacing sector, creating bespoke installations for thousands of satisfied customers including schools, local authorities and sports clubs across the UK and around the world.
Notts Sport customers benefit from expert advice and assistance from the design stage to installation and aftercare, while retaining full control over the characteristics and components that make up their specific facility.
The company also assures full quality control and minimal disruption throughout the installation of its products, through its approved network of trained, qualified distributors.
A new flexible finance solution from Notts Sport, Fast Track Funding, means schools and local authorities can now receive up-front funding for sports surfacing projects – so they won’t have to wait for their ideal facility and it can generate revenue to start paying for itself straight away.
