Notts Sport's new cricket facilities are fit for Leicestershire's finest

Leicester Ivanhoe Cricket Club is on top form following the installation of new Notts Sport practice bays at its Hinckley Road ground.

Designed by Notts Sport, the world’s leading supplier of synthetic cricket pitches, the The new practice bay installation at Leicester Ivanhoe Cricket Club, and a typical Notts Sport cricket pitch.facility comprises a twin-bay practice area with batting and bowling ends, synthetic turf surrounds, a 60ft cage for ‘catching’ sixes and a 2.4m security fence to keep the installation in tip-top condition. With advertising space on the fencing, the club has also gained an additional revenue source.

Leicester Ivanhoe, whose first XI went to the top of the league following the opening of the new installation, replaced their worn-out two-bay nets with a facility which not only helps members hone their skills, but is also attracting new recruits to the eight-team club.

“The old practice bays had come to the end of their life,” says Craig Crowe, Vice Captain of the first XI. “A club of our standard is always aiming to attract new members, particularly to our four youth teams, so a high-quality, low-maintenance installation was a priority for us.

“We had contacted a number of companies for quotes, but selected Notts Sport because they were extremely professional and gave a very reasonable price for the installation.”

In addition to the twin-bay practice facility, Notts Sport also provided Ivanhoe with a NottsGrass KDK Match Wicket. Both installations were fitted by Notts Sport’s approved local installer, Dura-Sport.

“We’re delighted with the Match Wicket, which is ideal for our junior team matches which can now go ahead even after its rained.”

Shaun Patrick, Chief Executive of Notts Sport, says: “This was a fantastic club to work with and we’re thrilled to see the first XI doing so well in the league.

“NottsGrass KDK is responsive to seam and spin and provides good grip, making it the perfect choice for any league club.”
