We take our corporate and social responsibility extremely seriously, which is why we were one of the pioneers in the extensive use of recycled materials in our products. The company started trading in 1982 as Ardiam Sheet Metal, a high quality steel fabrication company and this arm of the business continues today as the principal fabricator for a major UK lift manufacturer.The company's first venture into the leisure marketplace occurred in 2000, when Ardiam won the contract to manufacture high quality playground equipment for an established supplier. Shortly afterwards the supplier went into liquidation, and as the major creditor Ardiam took over the assets and order book.
After close consultation with customers, the company developed improved designs resulting in a range of high quality outdoor playground equipment that encouraged children to play continuously and creatively. The equipment was marketed, sold and installed under the Monster Play Systems banner. Monster Play Systems™ continued to develop their services to encompass not just children's playgrounds, but a wide range of customised ball courts and skate parks.
In 2005, Monster Play Systems™ introduced the highly successful BigToys® range of play equipment. BigToys® is not only innovative in design, but with all posts and platforms made from 100% recycled materials, gives BigToys® one of the highest percentages of recycled content available in play equipment today. Being one of the only companies to offer 100% hot dip galvanising and powder coatings to ensure longer life gives Monster Play Systems™ the confidence to offer 15 year structural guarantees on all equipment.
