A local playground in Wellford Road, Marshfield, has been given a 10-Years-Younger-style makeover by leading play equipment company Wicksteed Playscapes, based in Northamptonshire - transforming it from a tired and worn eyesore into a stimulating and inspiring place to play.

The play area, which had been a little neglected, needed to be restored to become an enticing and safe place for the local toddlers. After being called in by Marshfield Community Council, Wicksteed set about ripping out the old wooden play equipment to revive the site from top to bottom. Modern and exciting play equipment was then introduced, together with colourful games and images in the surfacing, such as hopscotch and footsteps.
“The entire piece of land has become a naturally pleasing place in which the neighbourhood tots can play and develop, while parents and carers look on and relax,” said Wicksteed’s Area Sales Manager – Gary Parker.

“The revamped play site has brought a new lease of life to
the community,” said Mrs Bashi, Chair to Marshfield Community
Council. “It’s almost unrecognisable after its
transformation. This play space allows young children to engage,
experience, exercise and educate themselves within the
community. It has been a long time coming, and the feedback
has been overwhelmingly positive. We know it is a valued
provision and only hope that the children take ownership and spend
lots more time in the playground instead of around
computers!”
