London play area benefits from Wicksteed’s natural magic

In the shadow of the iconic Wembley Arch lies a huge play area recently refurbished by Wicksteed Playscapes with the help of Playbuilder funding.  This sprawling, urban space has been literally transformed by the design team at Wicksteed who have cleverly and sensitively succeeded in creating a little bit of the country in the town.

With careful landscaping and the installation of some exciting and innovative play equipment, the play area of Tokyngton Park in the London Borough of Brent, now feels more like a land of adventure to be explored and rediscovered.

Tokyngton Park

The undulating terrain has been imaginatively used to provide an interesting, natural backdrop to the products installed within.  There’s an exciting timber zip wire, an exhilarating basket swing, a bespoke wooden bridge and even a specially fashioned totem pole!   Log walks and grassy mounds are variously located and a huge, stone, fossil-embossed rock face from Wicksteed’s Rockscape range provides a gritty challenge for the rookie climber.

Bringing a natural sense of adventure to an urban space is quite a task and one which Wicksteed happily embraces.  The company’s seven-strong team of graphic and landscape designers are committed to providing high quality, exciting, innovative, bespoke and sustainable playscapes and, notably, can source almost any product or material the customer specifically requires.
