SPI Play (Europe) Ltd, based in North Wales, is pleased to announce that through its recent discussions with The Play Mart Group, based in Italy, it intends to merge to form the world’s largest commercial play supply company.

This exciting new venture has been driven forward though the vision of the Managing Directors of both companies, Brad Miller and Romolo De Vecchi.

Brad Miller, from SPI Play, explained “The formation of the new group will create Europe’s leading supplier of indoor and outdoor commercial play products, in both sales volume and market coverage. The new group will be market leaders in Europe, the Middle East and many other countries around the world in the supply of a wide range of play related products and services, through well known brands including PlayMart, SPI Play, Soft Play Europe, Play Planet amongst others.”

The Wrexham facility is to become the centre of excellence for the new multi million pound group, and will increase productivity at the already successful business in North Wales.  It is anticipated that many new jobs will be created over the next 3 years in order to ensure production and logistics can supply the forecasted demand requirement for play products.

The merger provides a natural fit with synergies in a wide range of areas, including market coverage, supply chain consolidation and complementary products which will improve the group’s ability to satisfy customer needs.

Miller continued, “Our aim is not to satisfy our customer needs but to exceed them in all aspects of business such as value, quality, availability, product range and service: the list is endless.  Every year, hundreds of millions of children all over the world use our products with confidence in our quality, innovation and attention to safety, which are all things that we take very seriously.”

Romolo De Vecchi from PlayMart said “The play industry throughout Europe and the rest of the world is showing a continuing rise in popularity, particularly through the indoor markets.  This merger will enable the Group to move forwards into the industry with greater speed and efficiency, proving why we are number one in our sector.”

He continued “As childhood obesity levels continue to spiral, our industry provides the opportunity for children to exercise, play and socialise, in a controlled, safe environment.  Through this integration, our ability to design and supply more exciting and challenging equipment, both mentally and physically, is limited only by our imagination - which I am please to say we have in abundance!”

Due to enormous growth in the sector, the Play Industry is an exciting and unique place to be and the future is bright for this group, its people, and its customers.

Miller concluded “We live in an experience driven world, and we deliver quality experience through the use of our products.  How much more fun can a group of professionals have?!”
