Record RSS sponsors 160ft bungee jump
Outdoor play equipment specialist,
Record RSS is sponsoring its loyal customer Wayne Raistrick of
Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, in his charity bungee jump off the
Middlesbrough Transporter bridge. The 160ft jump which will take
place on the 25th March 2007 is in aid of Bradford neo-natal
unit.
Wayne will be taking the plunge from
The Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge which has been a symbol of the
area since it was opened in 1911. There are only two other
Transporter Bridges still in existence in Britain. The bridge
comprises two almost independent structures joined above the centre
of the River Tees. The suspended moving platform travels 86.8
metres across the river and takes around two and a half minutes to
complete its journey.
Record RSS who specialise in the design
and manufacture of outdoor play equipment are just one of the
regional companies sponsoring the bungee jump. The sponsorship
money will be donated to the special baby care unit where
Wayne’s son Bradley was born by emergency section weighing
only 2lb 15oz and stayed in the unit for 11 weeks. The special care
baby unit at Bradford Royal Infirmary neo-natural unit is part of
the Bradford Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Graham Pell, Area Manager for Record
RSS gives his support:
“Our company revolves
around children, so this cause is close to our hearts. Wayne is
very brave and I wish him and the baby unit all the
best.”
Wayne hopes to raise around £2000
through the jump.
“For any parent who has had a baby born prematurely will know
how traumatic and distressing a time like this can be. However with
the help, support and care of the dedicated staff at Bradford
neonatal unit Bradley was soon on the road to recovery. I wish to
raise as much money as possible to help the unit as I am eternally
grateful to them and hope it will help babies like Bradley in the
future.”
