One of the top playground manufacturers in the UK has just announced the launch of a new product to complement their existing range of safer surfacing.
RSS Playmakers has offered Grassmatt cellular rubber safer surfacing systems to their customers since 1999, but is this month launching the next generation in this innovative surface – Grassmatt FR. The new product will keep the popular aesthetic appeal of the original Grassmatt but with the added safety feature of a comprehensive fire retardant compound being added.
Grassmatt FR has been independently tested by ‘The Play Inspection Company’ to assess Critical Fall Height and flammability in accordance with recommendations from the API, and is great news for the industry as a whole, as Peter Bullock, Managing Director of RSS Playmakers, explained: “Our Grassmatt surface has always been hugely popular as it perfectly combines the safety of rubber surfacing, with the natural appeal of grass. It’s easy to install and maintain, as well as being extremely cost effective, and is an ideal ‘green’ solution in environmentally sensitive sites.”
