Playdale Wins National Contract

Europe’s largest touring organisation, The Caravan Club,
has awarded playground equipment specialist, Playdale, a nationwide
contract to install and maintain over 120 brand new play areas at
Caravan Club sites throughout the UK.
The contract was secured by Playdale following a four-way tender
and will see the company install the latest adventure trail and
other types of timber playground equipment from the Playdale range
at Caravan Club sites.
The project is being undertaken as part of a three year schedule
of works. Playdale will provide a full turnkey solution from design
and specification of the play areas, through installation, to
maintenance and annual audits.
Site purchasing manager for The Caravan Club, Steve Kovacs,
said: “Run by and for its members, The Caravan Club exists to
provide the ultimate in sites and services for caravaners up and
down the country. We were committed to overhauling our play areas
to ensure they were in keeping with the high standards of
facilities throughout our sites and also adhere to the latest
health and safety requirements.
“Playdale has a solid track record in the playground
equipment sector and put forward the most proactive response to our
tender. The crucial thing for us was that they were able to match
high quality products with the flexibility we needed in terms of
service offering to maintain the sites.”
The play areas will cater for all ages, with adventure trails
designed for children from three years up to adults, and with
modular playground equipment towers from the Jukebox range for
children from six to 12 years.
Playdale sales director, Barry Leahey, said: “We are
delighted to be working with The Caravan Club and have already
embarked on the first sites. As with all projects, we work to the
highest standards of design innovation, quality, service and above
all safety, and will be bringing these principles to bear in the
work we undertake for The Caravan Club.”
Playdale operates to the highest environmental standards and has
been awarded full independent accreditation by the British
Standards Institution for compliance with ISO 14001. Subsequently,
it reduces the consumption of materials in all operations;
purchases from sustainable resources; uses recycled materials
wherever possible; continually strives to reduce or eliminate
emissions from its processes; purchases raw materials and products
