New Guide for Playground Safety Surfacing

Matta Guide

Matta Products playground safety surfacing booklet is new and it is free

The 16-page ‘Guide to Playground Safety Surfacing’ is launched this month. It is aimed to help play providers, playground designers and specifiers, especially in local government, make the right choices from all the available options.

It reviews every type of children’s playground safety surfacing. These include bark chip, wet pour, sand, grass, and interlocking rubber mats either for grass to grow through or to go on solid surfaces.

Speaking at the launch of this new playground safety-surfacing booklet, Matta Products’ managing director, Lynne Vanes, said

“We specialise in supplying and installing Matta Product’s unique all-weather safety surfacing for children’s play. In addition to surfacing new play areas, we are often called in to replace other types of safety surfacing that is damaged, has deteriorated or is inappropriate. That is extra cost councils could avoid if they had selected the most suitable surface to start with. We hope this booklet helps them with that, especially to select the long-life, low maintenance safety surfacing which best suits them.”

Lynne Vanes added  "in a new play area the ground works and safety surfacing are significant and unavoidable costs for councils, which confirms the importance of good initial specifications so they do not pay twice".
