In this two-year appointment, Lesley
Knight succeeds Phil Holden. For the last two years Ms Knight has
been vice chair then chairwoman for indoor play - a role in which
she continues.
Commenting on her appointment as API chairwoman, Lesley Knight
said, "My prime drivers are to see the profile of the API raised
even further, its excellent work of recent years continued and pull
everyone in that direction. We have introduced new members to the
executive and I want to ensure this brings new benefits to the
Association, its members, their customers and most importantly, to
children's play."
Lesley Knight has been passionately involved in children's play from the start of indoor play in 1984. Indeed, before that as a physiotherapist with a Dip RG & RT in remedial gymnastics and recreational therapy, Lesley Knight focused on child development. Currently Lesley Knight is business development manager at Wrexham-based SPI Play which has emerged from the business she founded some twenty-three years ago.
The other new appointments to the API Executive are: Nick Tremlett as Outdoor Chairman, Andy Yates as Outdoor Vice Chairman and Chris Damer as Indoor Vice Chair. All appointments were confirmed at the API AGM on Thursday 26 April 2007.
